Glen Waverley is in the City of Monash and located an easy 19 kilometres south-east of the CBD.
The first settlers in the area arrived in the middle of the 19th century. They were responsible for developing Glen Waverley into orchards and farmlands. From the 1950s until the 1970s, major development of infrastructure had occurred and Glen Waverley slowly became a major hub.
Fun Fact: The first McDonald’s restaurant in Victoria opened in Glen Waverley. It was Australia’s second location after the original opened in Sydney.

The main dining and entertainment centre in Glen Waverley is Kingsway, the main street of the suburb. It is where you will find The Glen Shopping Centre as well as Century City Walk which houses the Village Cinema and a Strike Bowling.
Various hotels are also in place such as the Novotel Glen Waverley, Quest Hotel and Waverley International Hotel.
Other structures in the suburb include a Monash Public Library Service, the Victoria Police Academy housed in the former Roman Catholic seminary and the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre.
Educational facilities are also plenty in the area. From primary and secondary to colleges and universities, residents have a lot to choose from.
Glen Waverley is also home to many parks. One of the most well known being Jells Park where you can barbecue, take a nature walk, ride your bike. You will also find the Waverley Netball Centre at Jells Park, where weekly competitions are held.
Transportation
Public transportation is abound in the area with buses and the Glen Waverley train station, making the suburb easily accessible.
In addition, the Syndal railway station is a short walk.
