I think it was just really overwhelming. There was so much information and lots of people telling me different things, different ways to try and go about it. So I just felt really confused about how I was ever going to make the right decision.

We wouldn’t be here with Wendy’s help

I would say we’ve been looking for maybe nearly 12 months, maybe a little bit less. And, we didn’t have a lot of luck for the first 6 months, and we decided to get a Buyer’s Agent a couple of months ago, maybe 3 months into the process. It just took a lot of the hassle [out of it]. No, I feel like we didn’t really understand the process, and I think there’s a lot of things, especially as a first-time home buyer when you’ve never bought property before, you just don’t understand what’s going on. And, I feel like Wendy really clarified that for us and I think without Wendy, we wouldn’t be here.

I think [the house] just probably ticks everything we were looking for. It’s got a garage for our bikes, it’s close to where we live and love, it’s beautiful and sunny.

Well, I feel like you were constantly on it, and so when we were doing things, when we were not thinking about buying a house, you were, and you were making inquiries on our behalf. I feel it was good to have someone that was there constantly doing things for us. And also advocating for [us] in the process and cutting through all the stuff that real estate agents put you through.

Wendy was such a delight to deal with!

From our first meeting, Wendy’s warm and straightforward approach meant I knew straight away that she was the right person to help me find the ‘unicorn’ property I was looking for.

I had a very specific set of criteria – including a very small target area where I wanted to be – but with her well-established contacts and intimate knowledge of the neighbourhood, she demonstrated immediately that she would be able to find me my next home. What I wasn’t expecting was that it would happen so quickly – less than one month from sitting down for our initial chat over a coffee, I had my offer accepted on an off-market property that ticked all my boxes.

With time of the essence, being able to leverage her network of trusted professionals meant that the contract was reviewed and building inspections completed at very short notice, to ensure everything could be finalised just days before Christmas. Wendy helped us buy a home from 1900+km away!

We live in New South Wales, in a remote part of the state, and came to Melbourne to buy the house of our dreams. We found the house, but given that we were so remote from Melbourne, and given that we wanted to put a distance between ourselves and the vendors agent, and us as the sort of purchasers, we employed Wendy Chamberlain in order to act as our buying agent; our eyes and ears and that go between between the vendors agent and ourselves.

[We found it] extremely easy, even though we were, what, how many miles apart? 1900 kilometres or whatever, but on the phone we were able to discuss exactly what we wanted, our tactics, and Wendy was fantastic in the feedback, commentary, and strategy, and in the end won us the house of our dreams! I think Wendy did the heavy lifting.

For me, it takes all of the heat out of the relationship between ourselves and the vendor solicitors, it puts that bridge in place, such that it takes the emotion out of us buying a house, and places all that weight on Wendy’s shoulders to get us the deal that we were happy with. And also your relationships with the various real estate agents, you knowing their background, you having that insider information was invaluable. Thank you!

Thanks Wendy. I found it really really useful and amazing actually because we’ve been looking for a while and struggling to find something we wanted so it was really incredibly helpful to have you, Wendy, kind of discuss what we wanted exactly and what we were looking for and you just worked so hard to present us with so many options and we finally found something relatively quickly; we were very picky, and you somehow found us exactly what we wanted, so, [we were] very happy with the process.

I think the best thing was the fact that we are very busy and we don’t have a lot of time, we’re very time poor, so you kind of did all of the leg work and the ground work and you just made our life so much easier, and also managed to find us something off-market that we never would have found by ourselves, so yeah we’re really grateful for that.

Wendy is a true professional in every sense of the word. I was very demanding in what I wanted in a property. When I was inspecting potential properties, she gave excellent advice in response to my queries and comments. I was reassured by the care she took in seeking the right property.

Wendy helped us find a home in 2 weeks!

I have a wonderful friend who recommended Wendy to us, and said that Wendy changed their lives. And, being that we were about 27 weeks pregnant when we engaged Wendy’s help to find us our first home… We’d been looking for about 6 months and getting pretty depressed at the market, and our first/ my first meeting with Wendy she was like I can send you all these off-market properties, we can go and have a look, and promised that she’d find us a house possibly before our baby arrived, and she managed it in 2 weeks!
