Yesterday was a record auction day for October in Melbourne achieving a clearance rate of 74 percent. There were a total of 1,250 properties listed, 981 reported and 737 sold. This weekend's auction recorded a clearance rate of 77 percent, similar to last weekend. A total of 502 auctions were reported to the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) with 387 selling and 115 being passed in. Of the total passed in, 45 were on a vendor bid.
