Today’s auction results in Melbourne recorded a 76 percent clearance rate with a median price of $806,888. A total of 1,036 properties were listed, 839 reported and 639 sold.
The highest paid property this weekend was a house that sold for $4.6 million.
Regionwide, Victoria noted a clearance rate of 75 percent. A total of 982 auctions were reported to the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) with 737 selling and 245 being passed in. Of those passed in, 91 were on vendor bid.
The year 2015 has already recorded 25,800 auctions so far. This figure is considered the highest on record for any given year. In terms of property ales, this year has also recorded the highest with an estimated 84,000 sales.
This weekend’s auction in Victoria achieved 380 private sales, 15 land sales and 295 sales for flats and apartments.

Auctioneer Michael Fry from Nelson Alexander led the auction today in front of a small crowd of 16. The property auctioned was a fabulous one-bedroom flat on one of the best streets in Northcote. There were three bidders with a quote ranging from $300,000 to $330,000.
The auction opened on a vendor bid of $300,000 and was on the market at $330,000. The property sold for $351,000.
