Melbourne’s weekend auction yesterday recorded a clearance rate of 79 percent with a total sales of $507,885,800. A total of 1,046 auctions were listed while there were 848 reported auctions. Of the number, 677 properties were sold with a median price of $800,000.
In the entire Victoria, a clearance rate of 78 percent was recorded compared to last weekend’s 73 percent. A total of 941 auctions were reported to the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) with 738 selling and 203 being passed in while 85 were on a vendor bid.
159 properties in the state were sold prior to auction and 581 at auction. There were a total of 371 private sales recorded, 263 flats and apartments auctioned and 10 for vacant land.
Region-wide, the suburbs with top auction sales this 2015 were Reservoir with 387 auctions. Following behind were Glenn waverley with 306 auctions and Richmond with 298 auctions.
12 Caldwell Street Glenroy
Richard Imbesia from Stockdale & Leggo Glenroy led the auction with a crowd of 25 and with 2 bidders. A wet and cold day in Melbourne, the auction opened with a quote of $560,000 and was on the market at $660,000. The property sold shortly there after to that bidder for $660,000.
63 Chapman Avenue Glenroy
Claudio Cuomo of Stockdale & Leggo Glenroy led the auction attended by a crowd of 66 people. With a quote of $500,000, the property received an opening bid of $500,000. The house was on the market at $640,000. Two bidders tussled it out from there until the property sold for $715,000 to a buyers advocate acting for their excited buyers.
