As Melbourne continues with Stage Three restrictions due to mounting cases of coronavirus, buyers are still out and about and buying real estate.
The Melbourne auction market recorded a 82 percent auction clearance rate (based on REIV data), down from 88 percent last week. At the same time last year, the clearance rate was 74 per cent.
This result is based on 192 auctions reported across Melbourne. 90 homes were sold at auction, 65 before auction with 35 homes passed in. 193 homes were withdrawn from sale.
What we seem to be seeing is good quality housing stock still in high demand. With a shortage of homes on the market, if a buyer is ready to buy then they are doing so.
