Restrictions will be eased in Melbourne from 11:59PM on Thursday 10th June following an announcement from Acting Premier James Merlino this morning.
There’s great news for the real estate sector, with both auctions and property inspections allowed to go ahead from Friday. As expected, some restrictions will apply on crowd numbers. The official table of restrictions states:
Auctions permitted with a maximum patron cap of 50 people outdoors. Inspections permitted to a maximum of 10 people, subject to density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies.
Although Melbourne’s latest lockdown restricted on-site auctions from going ahead, clearance rates from online auctions have exceeded 90% over the past two weeks, reflecting the continuation of strong buyer demand across Melbourne.
