After watching the Melbourne real estate prices and demand sky rocket, it is no wonder we are seeing home buyers feeling burnt out and disappointed. They are doing all the right things, and are still missing out. A client of ours recently asked, “how can we get into the market?”.
The good news is that the housing marketing is cooling down, and we are finding it a lot easier for our clients to buy their dream home. However, that doesn’t mean their dream homes are easy to come by. Searching for the right home for you, can be a frustrating process. You may have found yourself constantly looking online for new properties coming to the market, attending open for inspections, and even auctions – agh, the frustration!
If this sounds familiar, I hope the following tips can help you heal your fatigue and come out fighting.
Adjust the brief slightly
Sometimes people become fixated on a particular pocket of a suburb, or must haves, and won’t budge. We get it. Some things are non-negotiable, but the reality is that you can still enjoy a fantastic lifestyle, 5 or 10 minutes down the road or without that must have, just to get yourselves into the market. Staying open-minded or compromising, usually leads to better results.
Keep on swimming, as Dory would say
Of course it’s super disheartening when you miss out on your dream house you could picture yourself living in. When this happens, we find it helps to and move on quickly. Perseverance is key in times like these.
Seek help!
You’ve got steam coming out of your ears from frustration? Seek help from a buyer’s advocate, who can come in fresh and completely re-invigorate your property search. We see things from angles you probably haven’t considered, and are privy to industry gossip that can change the game. Let’s just say things aren’t always as they seem. Plus, we do all the hard yards and more frustrating aspects of buying a house: the phone calls, the market monitoring, the paperwork… the tiresome stuff.
