While most Australians aren’t finding it any easier to buy a home, due mainly to the skyrocketing cost of living and house prices and mortgage interest rates remaining stubbornly high, a recent study by PropTrack indicates there are a few affordable hotspots if you know where to look.
The latest data from PropTrack shows the ten most in-demand suburbs across Australia experiencing enquiries from first home buyers. And of those ten popular suburbs Australia wide, six are in the greater Melbourne area.
Tarneit, with a median house price of $650,000, experienced the highest volume of enquiries from first home buyers followed by Greenbank in Queensland then Point Cook in Victoria, which has a median house price of $750,500.
Properties in Truganina, Werribee, Hoppers Crossing and Clyde North also received high numbers of buyer enquiries, rounding out the top ten locations that first home buyers are interested in, Australia wide.
Median house prices in those locations range from between $616,000 to $725,500, providing affordable options for first home buying. So if you know where to look, first home buyers can still get a foot in the door.
