Despite the continued disruption of COVID-19 on the property market, house prices are set to increase by more than 20% over the next 12 months. This is the tip from the ANZ as reported by Kate Burke in a recent Domain article.
This trend is expected to be encompass most States notwithstanding the lengthy periods of lockdown, particularly experienced both in Melbourne and Sydney. Melbourne has perhaps been hit a little harder given that under Stage 4 restrictions, live auctions and face-to-face property inspections have (to date) been prohibited under all circumstances.
Melbourne’s property market is hoping for a little respite from these harsh restrictions in the coming weeks. We can only hope, as this is having a devastating effect on home buyers and renters alike. Our recent blog dated 4th September highlights their plight.
We highly anticipate that once Melbourne sees the easing of property inspections restrictions in the weeks ahead, the market will trade with vigour. This will be a time where a Buyer’s Advocate in your corner will be more critical than ever. The contacts and relationships we have established with industry professionals is invaluable in a market as unforeseen as this one. Real Estate Agents will be overrun with the demand for property and extremely receptive to serious buyers. And nothing screams more serious to an Agent than engaging a Buyer’s Advocate.
With optimum weather for property auctions now starting to arrive, we eagerly hope that live auctions can resume sooner rather than later. We look forward to being a part of helping you find your dream home!
