For the week ending 15th May there were 978 auctions reported across Victoria, according to REIV data. The auction clearance rate for this period was 82%. Volume was slightly down from the 1281 auctions reported in the previous week.
635 homes were sold at auction, while 171 sold before auction, with 172 passed in. 46 properties were withdrawn from sale.
For the same period last year, there were only 115 auctions reported and a clearance rate of 83% achieved.
Some of the more noteworthy auctions over the weekend took place in West Footscray and Kingsville, where reserves were exceeded by six-figure sums.
