The week ending 19th June delivered a clearance rate of 82% (according to REIV data) from the 530 auctions that were reported across Victoria. At the same time last year, 431 auctions were reported and a clearance rate of 67% was achieved.
305 homes were sold at auction, 131 sold before auction, with 94 passed in. 31 properties were withdrawn from sale.
As Nathan Mawby pointed out yesterday in this article on Realestate.com.au, “Melbourne is building up to an unprecedented midwinter auction boom with three Super Saturdays of more than 1000 auctions in a row”. The market remains poised for quick sales as buyers continue to turn up in numbers at auctions across Melbourne.
