The week ending 18th December delivered an auction clearance rate of 76% from a total of 929 auctions reported for the period (based on REIV data).
There were 620 homes sold at auction last week and another 264 sold prior to auction, with 277 passed in. There were 67 properties that were withdrawn from sale and 38 auctions were postponed.
As Melissa Heagney recently reported, the market is still strong price-wise although buyers are becoming thinner on the ground as more homes were listed. Christmas is also approaching and people are distracted with end of year festivities.
