The week ending 6th March saw Melbourne’s unrelenting buyer demand continue as the city enjoyed a weekend of stellar autumn weather. The REIV recorded a clearance rate of 84%.
This result is based on 360 auctions reported across Melbourne. 243 homes were sold at auction and 59 were sold before auction, with 56 passed in. 10 properties were withdrawn from sale.
The high demand for property follows a media release last week by the Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) revealing that “first homebuyers increased their market share by 50.4% over 2020”.
