Through various channels over a six month period, the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) have demonstrated to the Victorian Government that their proposition to legislate reserve price disclosure seven days prior to auction is counter productive. The REIV’s efforts extended to consultation, independent research, meetings, dedicated working groups and media engagement.

Despite this and irrespective of the evidence and information provided to the contrary, the Government has introduced a Bill to Parliament, progressing the legislation. The REIV say the legislation is reckless, and will result in less pricing transparency for Victorians.

They strongly recommend contacting your local MP and voicing your opposition to the Bill.
