Following public consultation, the Victorian government are proposing changes to the education and fee regulations that currently govern property industry professionals. The main changes cover:

Training for Owners Corporation (OC) Managers

Owners Corporation managers who are either registered as an individual or are an OIEC of an OC management business will need to meet new initial training requirements. This includes people already working in these roles, who must finish this training by 30 June 2027.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Requirements

People working in real estate and property services will need to undertake CPD on an annual basis. This includes real estate agents, estate agents’ representatives and conveyancers from 1st April 2027, and OC managers and OIECs from 1st April 2028.

Changes to Fees

The Government has reviewed the fees for licences and registrations with changes proposed to ensure fees cover the cost of running licence and registration systems. Fees are being introduced for agents’ representatives and OIECs of OC management businesses.
