How was your Valentines Day? Was there plenty of romance or was there more fizzle than sizzle? If Cupid’s arrow seemed to be off target it may be your home that is the problem.

The practice of feng shui identifies the far south west corner of your home as the ‘love and relationships’ area, so maybe these tips and tricks will bring more love and romance into your home and life.

  1. Curves – feng shui loves harmonious curves especially in the relationships corner. Curved lines in furniture, furnishings and architecture are also popular interior design trends this year!
  2. Symbols – in the love and relationships corner of your home good feng shui is placing ornamental symbols of love and harmony such as a pair of swans or mandarin ducks.
  3. Colours – use red, pink, white and even light earthy tones in the south-west corner of your home and the far right corner of your bedroom to encourage loving relationships.
  4. Plants – placing healthy plants in the love sector is thought to inspire life, growth and renewed relationship energy.
  5. Candles or crystals – hang a crystal or place a pair of candles in the love and relationships corner to invite loving vibes into your home.
  6. Pairs – create balance in your love life with paired decorative items such as lamps, bedside tables, vases, plants and art or photos that depict things in pairs such as two people.

Regardless of romance, creating spaces in your home that make you feel happy and content is good for the soul!
