The Victorian government recently announced a statewide campaign to further educate landlords, agents and tenants on the minimum standards for rental properties.
The move is applauded by the Real Estate Institute of Victoria, who have long been advocating for increased education and awareness of minimum rental standards in the property sector.
In response to the government’s announcement, the REIV said, “we are pleased to see progress on this matter with the announcement and launch of this campaign. We are confident these resources will support our property management experts in ensuring their rental providers better understand the requirements, that their properties meet minimum standards, and that renters understand what those standards are.”
The statewide campaign kicked off in April, providing clear information to Victorian landlords and agents regarding their obligation to provide safe and secure rental properties. The campaign also focuses on providing renters with easy-to-access information regarding their rights as tenants.
The campaign is being run across several social platforms and key real estate websites.
